My fitness journey
I might be a personal fitness trainer, but like all of us, I sometimes struggle with the pressures and expectations of life: parenting, caring for others, lack of time and energy when working full time.
Stress can show itself in many ways. You can feel overwhelmed, anxious and demotivated. Also, you can experience difficulties with food.
But I’ve always understood the power of health and fitness and how it can see you through tough times.
So when my eldest son started school, I decided to follow my passion and qualify as a personal trainer.
That was in 2009. And I’m so glad I made the decision. Why do I say this? Because I’ve had the pleasure of seeing:
- The joy on the face of a previously overweight client, who never had in her life exercised before (apart from reluctantly at school) complete her first 5k run.
- The relief of an 80-year old who was struggling to get up and down off the loo.
- The mounting confidence of a 60-year old lady whose husband had just left her.
- The vast improvement in the health of a 40-year old guy, worn down by stress caused by long hours at work.
